Water polo is one of the fastest growing sports in Chicago and the western suburbs. Water polo is a competitive team sport that mixes the best of basketball, soccer, and hockey (not to mention swimming!). Huntington Estates Water Polo strives to introduce players to the sport and develop their skills through four practices a week and games against other subdivision teams in Naperville.
Our league, the Naperville Summer Subdivision Water Polo League administers the program and runs a season consisting of 6-8 games and a championship tournament in mid-July. The league consistently stresses an instructional, fun, and competitive approach to the game.
If you like to swim and have fun on a team, come join our Water Polo team! No experience necessary!
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE WATER POLO TEAM:
Sign-up preference is given to HEBT members. If we do not fill our team roster by May 25th, we will open spots to members of neighboring pools that do not have polo teams until we fill our team.
AGE: 8-14 (you must be 8 yrs. old by May 31st and may play through 8th grade). Players must be able to swim at least 25 yards freestyle without stopping.
We typically field 3 teams: 11&Under (U11) Coed, 14&Under (U14) Coed, and 14&Under (U14) Girls. If our opponent has a girls team then it will be the coaches discretion which girls play both U14 Coed and U14 Girls.
PRACTICES: Our first practice is Sunday, May 26, 9am-10am with a team meeting immediately following. Practices are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11am-12pm. Sunday practice will be from 9am-10am unless there’s a Sunday morning game. Weekday practices will start as soon as Naperville Public Schools are out.
GAMES: Weekday games will occur on Monday, Wednesday, and some Fridays. The league will be standardizing weekday games along the following schedule: 5:30 pm Warm-Up; 6:00 pm U11 Games; 6:45 pm U14 Girls Games; 7:30 pm U14 Coed Games. If a team does not have a girls team then the U14 Coed game will occur at 6:45 pm. Sunday games will either be in the morning or evening and any Sunday evening games will follow the weekday time schedule.
COST: Fees will increase by $15 this year. Fees are $125 for HEBT members and $175 for any non-HEBT members. Fees will include any necessary league mandated insurance.
