The HEBT Junior Tennis Team is a great way for
young players to participate in competitive tennis in a fun, team atmosphere
while continuing to develop both their singles and doubles games. The Junior Teams are open to HEBT members
entering grades 4-12 who play at an intermediate level or above. Players are expected to serve and rally with
consistency and know the fundamentals of match/play scoring.
The Season will begin on Monday, June 4th and end
with the NSJTL Team Cup on August 3rd (no scheduled drills week of July
2nd). At weekly drills, players learn
winning strategies and how to construct singles and doubles points. Fun
individual and team competitions will be organized to help players learn to
compete on their own and as part of a team.
Huntington Estates will have a Varsity Team and a Junior
Varsity Team. The Varsity Team is for high school age players, although Junior
High advanced players can be placed on the Varsity Team at the Coaches
discretion. All new players interested
in playing on the Varsity Team (not in High School) must attend a pre-season
meeting (dates will be shared by April 30th) or coordinate an assessment time
with Coach Jon.

The Naperville Summer Junior Tennis League (NSJTL)
changed their format in 2017, to hosted tournaments rather than dual meets. For
additional playing opportunities, neighboring clubs will host Friday inter-club
matches. If an opposing club does not have enough players available for Friday
Match Play and there are at least four HEBT players available Coaches will organize
singles/doubles play at HEBT on Friday from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Format for Friday matches will vary depending
on the size and level the opposing club has on their roster/or the number of
players they have available.
The cost for the Junior Team is about $250 per player. This fee
includes all drills, in-house matches and events, administrative league fees
and ball costs. It does not cover the cost of a team t-shirt (about $15). Match
and tournament schedules will be posted when received from the league but a
draft schedule can be found by visiting HERE.
