The Fishing Derby is open to all Huntington Estates homeowners and their guests. Both adults and children are invited to attend. This is a BYOB event, bring your own bait (red worms and night crawlers are recommended). You will need to bring your own fishing pole and tackle as well.
Registration will begin at 9:00 am and participants will be allowed to fish for 1.5 hours after they sign in.
Participants under the age of 16 will be awarded certificates for "The Largest Fish", The Smallest Fish" and "The Most Fish Caught" during the Derby. If there is a tie, duplicate certificates will be awarded. Only one award per participant is allowed.
All fish over 6 inches should be released (after photos and measurements of course) and panfish under 6 inches will be recycled as fertilizer to reduce the population of slow growing panfish. We believe this will increase the growth rate of the remaining panfish.
To make this even a success, volunteers are needed for the following:
8:15 - 9:00 am Setup
9:00 - 9:30 am Registration
9:00 - 11:00 am Judging (full info books and tools provided)
11:00 - 11:45 am Teardown/Cleanup
Please contract Kristin Eccles at firstname.lastname@example.org for volunteer assignments and further information ~
